Evidence to Improve Care

Evidence and Health Quality Ontario

Health Economist Presenting Evidence

We promote health care supported by the best evidence.

To do this, we use established scientific methods to analyze evidence and develop assessments of new and existing health care services and medical devices. These reviews, called health technology assessments also include recommendations on whether these services and devices should be publicly funded.

In addition, we create quality standards, outlining what quality care looks like, based on the best available evidence. Our quality standards include a robust program to support adoption.

All the evidence work we do is designed to lead to better health outcomes and a better care experience for all Ontarians.
