​Health Quality Ontario has a legislated mandate to make evidence-based recommendations to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care on which health care services and devices should be publicly funded.

After careful deliberation, our Ontario Genetics Advisory Committee advises on which genetic and genomic services and devices should be publicly funded.

This committee is made up of volunteer members, including health care experts and individuals who can contribute to the patient perspective, serving on a renewable three-year term.

​The Ontario Genetics Advisory Committee is a standing sub-committee of the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee, which provides recommendations to Health Quality Ontario. ​Learn more about the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee:
