System Performance

Measuring Up – Our yearly report on the performance of Ontario’s health system

A clear understanding of how Ontario's health system performs helps us improve. This is why Health Quality Ontario publishes Measuring Up – a yearly report on how Ontario’s health system is performing.

The report is based on a focused set of indicators selected in partnership with health experts and system partners across the province. We use these indicators to see how health quality is changing over time across Ontario and how the province compares with the rest of Canada and other countries.

Measuring Up also features stories from health care providers, patients and caregivers – people who encounter first-hand challenges with the health system and who are working to improve it – to provide human perspectives on the performance data.

If you have questions about Measuring Up or other ways we report on health system performance in Ontario, please email us at SystemPerformance@HQOntario.ca.
