Speaker: Dr. Walter Wodchis
Dr. Walter Wodchis is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, a Research Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. He leads several research programs that focus on populations with complex medical conditions who transition across multiple healthcare sectors, health system performance measurement for these populations, spreading community-based innovations for complex patients, and return on investment for health system interventions. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (Waterloo), Master's in both Gerontology (Waterloo) and Economics (Michigan), and earned his doctorate in Health Services Organization and Policy (Health Economics) at the University of Michigan.

Opening remarks: Ms. Helena Hutton
Helena J. Hutton started her career in nursing in 1985, and has since held many different positions in hospitals and healthcare, including Director of Health Systems (Surgical Services), Interim Vice President (Patient Services), and Associate Vice President (Strategic Initiatives, Patient Services) at Trillium Health Centre. In recognition of her work and leadership, Helena’s teams have received national honours, including the Johnson and Johnson Best Practices Award and the National 3M Health Care Quality Team Award. After a year as an independent consultant to the hospital sector, Helena joined Southlake Regional Health Centre in 2007, and has held a number of management positions, and was appointed Vice President of Quality, Emergency, ICU, Medicine & Surgical Programs in 2011. Helena earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario, and her Master’s in Education at Brock University. Helena has also recently completed the Advanced Healthcare Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
