Tom Closson was President and CEO of the Ontario Hospital Association before stepping down in January 2012. Prior to his term at the OHA, Tom was President and CEO of University Health Network (UHN). Before joining UHN, Tom served as President and CEO at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and worked in Victoria, British Columbia as President and CEO of the Capital Health Region. Tom also has extensive experience in health care consulting: as an owner of Medicus Canada and as a Partner with KPMG. His experience in government includes working with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Management Board Secretariat. He is currently on the Board of Directors of LifeLabs, the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, and Health Quality Ontario. Tom is a professional engineer who earned a MBA from York University and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering.
